Smallville: A good time to be a Kryptonian

So, it seems like this season is going to be the season of guest stars for Smallville. We have Justin Heartly returning in his role as Olliver Queen, along with other members of the Justice League (some returning, and possibly some we haven't seen before.

Poor Tom Welling gets to play double-duty, at least for part of the season, as we know that Bizarro will be back for at least two episodes. And we'll have a new visitor from Krypton in the form of Laura Vandervoot.

But what I'm most excited about? Two cameos for former Kryptonians.

Dean Cain, who was Superman/Clark Kent in Lois and Clark has been confirmed as a guest star. I won't reveal any spoilers about his character here, but details can be found over at KryptonSite.

Just as interesting, however, is that Helen Slater, who formerly played Kara Zor-El in the all-too forgetable Supergirl movie, will very possibly be playing a recurring cameo role on Smallville.

Add in more appearances by the John Jones, the Manhunter from Mars, and one almost wonders when we'll actually see any of Clark, Chloe, Lana, Lex or Lionel.
